Pursuant to the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, the Ninth Circuit Solicitor's Office will provide copies of public records in its custody, with the exception of exempt materials under S.C. Code §30-4-40. Fees may be assessed for the search, retrieval, and redaction of records, and a deposit may be required. The Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office charges the following fees as provided for under the Freedom of Information Act section 30-4-30(B):
Payment is required in full before the public records are provided. If the request is deemed to be of a large volume, requesters will be notified and given an opportunity to narrow their request or will be required to pay a deposit of 25% in advance before the request will be fulfilled.
South Carolina Law provides that knowingly obtaining or using personal information from a public body for commercial solicitation is a crime pursuant to S.C. Code §30-2-50.
