Fee Exemption: S.C. Code § 17-22-940(B), any person who applies to the solicitor's office for an expungement of general sessions charges pursuant to Section 17-1-40 is exempt from paying the administrative fee unless the charge that is the subject of the expungement request was dismissed, discharged, or nolle prossed as part of a plea arrangement under which the defendant pled guilty and was sentenced on other charges.
S.C. Code 17-22-940(4) The two hundred fifty dollar fee is nonrefundableregardless of whether the offense is later determined to be statutorily ineligible for expungement or the solicitor or his designee does not consent to the expungement.
NOTE: Each expungement order may contain only one charge sought to be expunged, except in those circumstances when expungement is sought for occurring out of a single incident and subject to expungement pursuant to Section 17-1-40 or 17-22-150(a).

Fees:All money orders and certified checks should be purchased at the time of submission of your Expungement Application. No money orders or certified checks with an issue date greater than six months from the receipt date of the Expungement Application will be accepted or processed. Additionally, no money orders or certified checks that are modified in any way (i.e. whited out, scratched out, etc.) will be accepted.
A person applying to expunge a criminal record shall obtain the appropriate blank expungement order form from the solicitor's office in the judicial circuit where the charge originated. The use of this form is mandatory and to the exclusion of all other expungement forms.
